Clamoring For More

There has been such a tremendous response to our Fireproofing Your Marriage class on Wednesday nights, that we are strongly considering holding an additional class on Sunday evenings for those families that minister on Wednesday evenings or Sunday mornings and are unable to attend any other time. If you have not yet purchased a Love/Dare book ($10) or a Fireproof study guide ($7) they are available in the office while supplies last (English and Spanish). Remember to invite your neighbors and fri… Continue

Fireproofing Your Marriage

We just finished the third sermon in a six sermon series about how to "Fireproof" your marriage. Most everyone agrees that having a good marriage requires a lot of hard work and dedication. I'm very excited about our current daily on-line devotional for married couples. For the next four weeks, leading up to our Couple's Dinner Theater on Friday, March 13th, you can join with your spouse every day and review ideas for creating a stronger relationship. You'll enjoy the simple challenges and suggestions that can make marriages fun. We've designed the devotional to be used one day at a time. Each exercise or suggestion builds from the previous day's devotion. No fair trying to get ahe… Continue

Closing In On Christmas

Our house is decorated with white lights, the lamppost is wrapped with garland and more lights, and Jacquelin made me put up two flimsy, white metal reindeer that we purchased last year for 80% off at Walgreen's "after Christmas sale" (which is when we always purchase Christmas decorations). I actually enjoyed decorating for Christmas this year....except for the reindeer. Dragging the artificial tree up from the ba… Continue

It's That Time Of The Year !

It's been said that confession is good for the soul....so here goes. I have been listening to Christmas music CD's in my car since the week of Halloween. It may sound crazy, but it can't be helped. I love this season of the year. When the leaves start to turn color, the geese start heading south, and the nights get cold, my thoughts turn to Thanksgiving and Christmas. This year the kids have all begged for me to fry our turkey for Thanksgiving, so down to the basement I go to pull out the fryer.… Continue
